We will remember those who died serving their country,
Almost sixteen thousand of them.
We will remember the tiny babies,
Who died straight from birth.
We will remember on 11/11 at the eleventh hour,
We will remember. |
Matthew Davies |
The crack in the wall letting the sunlight on to the ring,
Eleventh month eleventh day eleventh hour.
We celebrate that the war is over
But sad because of how many died.
To save us from guns, bombs and defeat
Against the Germans, Japanese and Argentineans.

Thomas Johnson |
People die every second,
But they think it’s a game,
It’s a terrible game, you only have one life to be happy and play,
So don’t live your life in fear; enjoy life like it is.

Memorials lie to remember them all,
Some are on the Great Wall, some are on trees that blow in the breeze.
Here we also remember the babies that were born sleeping
Their parents have never stopped weeping.
The teardrop lies in the womb-shaped place.
We will remember.
Some people in the war got worked to death.
We will remember.
A railway lies here that the people built.
We will remember.

For the people that die
It’s not a game when you always survive.
Like other people
Who die every second.
We remember them by putting their names on a plaque.
We think about them for two minutes.
It’s the same with babies,
Some of them died without seeing their mom or dad.
And people who got captured by the Japanese,
And got tortured and tortured all night and day non-stop
That’s what I say.

People risk their lives to keep us safe.
Some people don’t respect the brave.
It is so sad when people die.
When love becomes a memory and a memory becomes a treasure.
When babies die at birth it is very painful for their families. |
Jordan Yates |
One little baby,
Out of the tummy
Already dead that isn’t funny,
Mom and Dad crying all night,
But there’s one thing to it,
It isn’t memory it’s a treasure,
And that’s the thing which counts |
Tai Antill |
Golden brown stone wall
All of them died with a fall
A shock.
A grenade like a rock.
Willow weaving with a tool
No soldiers died being a fool.
Loads of scratchings affecting us
We talk about them with a lot of fuss.
Weavings of fish, airplanes and many more,
But I bet you could weave a door.
A lot of babies unfortunately dead
But put their secrets to bed.
Why does this happen?
It’s life Fred.
|
Taiyla Howard |
Poor old Howard D. died in the war
How painfully for the family.
But with green trees and bright leaves
Are memories of those people.
Poppies are the war’s flower of peace.
But in the chapel is love for people who died in war.
But not so grateful for babies who died or died at birth,
It will be a treasure for those; treasure it.

Almost sixteen thousand people died.
So we could live a happy life.
The most deaths were in 1953.
Edwin planted the first tree at the Armed Forces Memorial.
They died for us, they served for us, they saved us.

Sweet, but dying babies
Real people, real alive babies
Like you, me and others
Taking first steps, they can’t try.
Lot’s born asleep,
When someone you love becomes a memory,
The memory becomes a treasure.
Soldiers died for you and me,
They must be very kind,
We will remember them.
Today. Tomorrow. Forever.
Disciples are like children learning forever.

James Pinches |
Poor people in the Navy
Going in ships and sinking ships.
Army people are so great
No one can get past their gates.
Royal Air Force in their planes
3,2,1, go, go,go being brave all the time.
Babies names on some stones
No one can forget them
Schmid OSG GC great and brave.
|
Beccy Yeomans |
Soldiers giving up their lives,
So we can be happy for the rest of ours.
And babies tragically dying before their life has even begun.
It makes me think how lucky I am.
And the people who care for me,
And the ones I should remember,
And the moments I should treasure,
And the memories which will stay in my heart forever.

Thousands of names wrote on a wall,
They served our country we will remember them
All, men and women did all this,
The crack in the wall is a clever sundial
Which we remember on a wall.
There’s one man called Schmid who got a George Cross for his bravery,
We will remember these people with dignity.
|
Lucy Allen |
Walking round the echoey halls,
Engraved scratches upon the walls.
Poor, brave Mr Schmid,
He defused mines he did.
The British signs are so good,
Pity England got put in mud.
Oh Britain you are so great,
Waiting for more I can’t wait!

Rebecca Fisher |
On the walls there are almost sixteen thousand names,
On the walls there is a crack where the sunlight falls through it.
On the side of the crack there is writing saying,
On the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month is when sunlight shines through.
I like Words and Willow a lot.
|
Sam Astle |
They gave up their lives to make ours better,
They made sure we would have a place to live with comfort.
I say thank you to every one, especially Schmid,
A man willing to risk his life for ours.
|
Mikey Gray |
People that die at war
Always will survive
But in their own little world
We will read their names out.
They will enjoy their moment of fame.
