Tomorrow
Remember:
The everlasting screaming on distant battlefields
As men fight for their country.
Troops dream about sleeping in their own warm beds,
Instead of fighting on the battlefields.
Poppies:
A battlefield full of fighting where no life grew
Now poppies spring from the blood of troops.
People scarred as they remember what life
Was like on those gory battlefields.
Memorials:
Remind us of the brave soldiers who fought
For the peace of the world.
Their names indented in the pale Portland stone.
An obelisk points the way to heaven for
The soldiers’ souls,
Souls which will live
Today,
Tomorrow,
Forever.
