Special Forces Goose

Rare Goose Sighted at the National Memorial Arboretum!

This unusual species of Willow Goose was spotted this week flying low across the Allied Special Forces Memorial Grove.

Rarely seen, silent, and secretive, it appears briefly at dawn then disappears into cover,

often before anybody realises it has been there!

Another name - another story...

Our morning poetry students were particularly touched by the moving family tributes left on the Armed Forces Memorial below the name of Kingsman Danny John Wilson of the 2nd Battalion, the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment.

Kingsman Wilson died on active duty in Iraq on the 1st April 2007.

He left a wife, Tracey, and a son.
