  • Annoying Swans

We walked away, planning to go

But a swan crossed our path and said, “no.”

Its head turned and it flicked its tail,

While its nose burned as it blocked our trail.

Eventually it went,

To a swimming event

And we carried on

Away from the swan.

We walked down a path

Which was flooded like a bath.

A woman came along and crossed the path

And all of a sudden we heard a loud splash.

It was a dog plodding through

Splish, splash, splosh.

  • Naughty Swans

We walked to a gate that was closed,

On the path there were swans having a doze.

Their necks were twirled round like a snake

And they were lying down, not awake.

Four babies lay next to them, resting

The babies to the swans were pestering.

Finally they left for the river

Which was so cold it made me shiver.

  • The Swan on the Path

The mum’s asleep,

The dad’s on watch,

The baby cygnets snuggle.

The dad sees with his hungry eye

Danger approaching

A grey velvety mink.

Four fluffy cygnets

Follow mum

Into the silver rising lake.
