The River Flows

A river flows by,

Washing the green and pink lilly pads,

Going by,

The strong current

Twisting around.

That is called a whirlpool.

The weeds wave about in the rippled water.

The air has a strong coded breeze

Which smells refreshing.

 Beautiful nature.

The Elegant Swan

A tall, white elegant swan gliding through the water,

The water falling from the rocks down to the pool,

The wetness of the trees and the ground.

The buttercups were as yellow as the bright, morning sun.

My eyes were surprised and dazzled.

The little frogs hopping desperately across the path.

A tall, white, elegant, swan gliding through the water.

The Bird Calls

A family of frogs,

Hopping along the path.

Our big feet,

Stamping on their home.

Waterfalls clash onto rocks,

Making a noise

Heard from the building,

Like rain falling.

Lavender smell catches my nose,

The lilac colour makes me feel good.

The stems move in the wind,

Left and right.

I walk past,

Brushing my fingers through perfume.

The bird calls.

A sweet lovely sound,

Echoes through the air,

Circling slowly

Around.

Red Hot Pokers

I saw Red Hot Pokers sitting in the sun,

The weeping willows leaning against the water.

Waterfalls, gushing and swaying from side to side.

The puddles were lying across the muddy ground.

The frogs were jumping so high it looked like they were jumping on a trampoline.

As the elegant swans were gliding across the water it felt like I was gliding with them.

The birds were flying high above us like there was no tomorrow.

I saw Red Hot Pokers sitting in the sun.

I saw Little Green Froglets

I saw little green froglets

hopping along a path,

There were hundreds of them

crossing towards the grass.

The grass that they were hoping

to reach was long and thin.

In the distance, the sound

of a waterfall rushing.

I saw little green froglets

                                hopping along a path,

The sun beat down on

                                their speckled skin.

They were camouflaged

                                like chameleons,

I took care not to tread

on them.

Four Baby Cygnets

Four baby cygnets following Mum.

Sound of waterfalls trickling,

The sun peeping through the clouds

And little frogs camouflaged into the path.

Four baby cygnets following Mum.

Big tall tree shaking in the breeze,

Hearing birds singing in the sky,

Little children working.

Four baby cygnets following Mum.

Little Lilly pads lying still on the surface of the pond,

Crazy butterflies racing around,

Four baby cygnets following Mum.

The River Walk

I saw lily pads

Big as dinner plates

On the river beside me.

I heard the rustling of the

oak trees.

The corkscrew willow tree

with short

ragged hair

like

an un-windable

puzzle.

Bamboo tree reminded me

of China.

I saw lily pads

big as dinner plates

on the river beside me.

The Seeing Station

It sees the hairline crack on the swan’s egg,

The slight movement of the woodpecker’s nest high in the tree,

The black dot lurking in the middle of frogspawn,

The bursting of a bud starting a new life.

It sees butterfly eggs sheltered behind gunnera leaves.

It sees the lips of the fish coming up to kiss the air.

It sees a dragonfly drying its wings before its first flight,

An otter swimming in murky water hunting one eel,

Striped busy-ness of the wasps as they construct their home.

The gathering of pollen.

Wild Nature Poem

There was a big oak tree.
It was approximately 300 yrs old.
It had a rough texture against
My small palms.

Tiny frogs were leaping around
Like dancing pixies.

The trees were like dancers swaying to a tune,
Swishing to and fro as the sun began to shine.

All types of birds were busy talking
As the ants marched silently across the ground.

What am I?

I lie beneath the sun so bright,
I lie by the nettles that sting and bite.
The sweet little cygnets learn to fly away,
                             But I am stuck here,
                                      Here to stay.

Then a gentle breeze comes along,
And the birds start to sing their song.
The beautiful lily pads lie on top of me.
                Nearby, the hovering bumble bees.

What am I?

Weeping Willows

Sky blue dragonflies move quickly as if they were a swarm of bees.
Sweeping smashing spinning rivers smash against the rocks.

The warm sun on my skin.
Green leaves ripple on the trees as if they were butterflies.
Sweeping swooping birds

The little frogs spring happily on the green grass.
If you don’t watch where you’re walking, the frogs look like jumping mud.

The willow sculptures look like honeycombs
And some of them look like a snake moving though trees.

The Milk White Swans

Milk white swans
Swimming with their
Fluffy brown cygnets
In the rippling water.

Fast river flowing
Birds calling from high up
In the old oak tree.

Tiny frogs leaping
Over to long green grass.
A soft breeze tickles my skin.

Weeping willows
Hanging gently over
The rippling murky water.

I look so small
In this giant jungle of
Plants, animals and birds.

The Cool Wind Blows

Willow so tall and curly,
Birds sit in you calling.
 Cool wind rustles you,
Your leaves madly whirling,
almost like hair,
as the River Trent washes you.
I looked at you and something flicked.
I’ll never forget the day that I met you,
Willow so tall and curly.

Snowy White Swans

The grass is swaying softly in the breeze,
The splashing water splashes against the rocks,
Smelling the scented bright coloured red hot pokers,
Watching the family of hopping frogs jump like baby rabbits.
                        Just seeing this
                                             It is so amazing...
Looking at the snowy white swans swim, so beautiful,
I lie beneath the sun so bright.
I sit and listen to the sweet soft sound of birds singing,
Listening to the sound of the swishing
Whirlpool
And
Waterfalls,
I lie in the sun and watch the sky blue dragon-fly swoop across the air.

Senses in Nature

I saw the miniature features of baby frogs crawling along the gravelled ground.

A young dragonfly drying its wings before its first flight.

I heard the unique songs of birds as they awoke in the morning sun.

I felt the cold wind brush my skin as it passed.

The dark, green frogs looked like mice escaping a vicious cat.

I touched the silk- skinned plants as I passed them on my journey.

I saw the miniature features of baby frogs crawling along the gravelled ground.

I Saw some baby frogs

I saw some baby frogs,
Which tumbled in the wind.
I saw two little cygnets,
Whose feathers ruffled in the wind.

There were noisy birds,
With high-pitched tones.
A flowing waterfall,
Crashing up against rocks.

At first it was cold and
Wet with mist,
Then there was a musty heat
And a glowing sun.

Flapping Gunnera leaves
Like elephant ears.
I look up
Into the creamy white clouds
Wondering,
What it would be like
To look up at a giant.

Dragon Fly

A sea-blue dragonfly flutters in the swaying grass.

Swamp green leaves big as an umbrella upside down.

A tree top shakes like a swarm of bees.

A sound, rapid whistling.

Temperature so warm
                            That I feel like
                                                 I want to
                                                             Drop
                                                                        Off…

Dark murky water runs wildly down the nature-filled park.

A sea-blue dragonfly flutters in the swaying grass.

Comfort Colours

Little lips of a fish are kissing the top of a lake.

Sound of birds calling crazily.

The hair on my back started to prickle

As the oak trees big as buildings brushed the clouds of the sky

And the luscious lavender blooms bashfully

And the roaring waterfall rushing rapidly,

Whilst the lips of a little lips of a fish kiss the air above the lake.

A Whirlpool in the Water

A whirlpool in the water,
And swimming ducks,
Hearing the sound of the gushing waterfall,
Just makes you turn,
                                  To take,
                                                A look.

The high-pitched sounds of bird calls,
While you sit down and weave,
The sunshine and warmth,
Just makes you,
                           Want to,
                                          Stay.

The tiny frogs on the floor,
Look just like little branches,
While I look and try to avoid,
Treading,
                          Them to,
                                           Flat pieces.

The willow sculptures,
Are just amazing,
While one looks like a snake,
The other,
                  Looks like,
                                      It’s moving.

So that’s what I saw today,
Little frogs and ducks,
But I’ve just got to say,
That more nature,
                              HAS to,

                                              Come my way!

Five Senses in Poetry

I saw green trees browsing though the air.
It’s sunny. You can feel the cool breeze though you.

You can cool down from the
Cool breeze though your t-shirt.
It cools you from the scolding sun.

The grass is long.
The boys are pulling it out and it makes you sneeze.

The long green grass
Has got all different insects in it
And I could see a dragon fly.

I look up in the sky. All I can see are white puffy clouds
And the eye hurting sun.

All the boys are complaining
Because of the scolding sun
And the girls are complaining about mud!!

The teachers are boiling.
It was cool this morning so they put on
Water-proofs and layering.
So they are hot.

Wildlife Adventure at Wolseley Gardens

I saw baby frogs as they hopped around on their long legs.

The sound of the birds singing their songs,
Flying through the sky.

The weather is not warm and not cold so it is alright.
The draft is feeling cold on my hands.

The Gunnera plant making shade from the rain like an umbrella.

As I was rolling by I saw a snake sculpture going in and out of the trees.
A big oak tree you can’t wrap your hands around,
But it would be good to give it a hug.

I saw baby frogs as they hopped around on their long legs.
