  • If you Tease Bees you Will Pay the Fees!

Bees bees bad for your heart,

The more they sting the more you cry,

Taking pollen forward and back,

BUZZ! BUZZ! FLY,

If you tease bees,

You will pay the fees.

  • The Tall Tree

 Standing so high,

Foundations strong,

Moss creeping up,

Roots run deep.

Made of wood,

Steady in the ground,

Home to some

Clothes made of leaves.

Arms all over,

Rooted to the spot,

Still as a wall,

Never going to move.

  • Treasure Trail

Here we go on our treasure trail

Our guided adventure - we’re not gonna fail.

Picking up creatures,

Noting their features,

Studying head and tail.

Here is the end

We’re going round the bend.

Sir says, “Choose a rock,”

While the clock goes tick tock

And I don’t know what to put on my paper.

Here we end our treasure trail,

Our guided adventure. I’ve defiantly failed.

Or have I?

Have I failed or have I not?

Oh my goodness I’m losing the plot.

  • The Tunnels of Trees

Birds tweeting in the tunnels of trees.

Passing birds and buzzing bee’s.

Pebbles and lily pads in the pond,

Dragonflies and butterflies all day long.

Squirrels are scurrying up the trees,

Munching and crunching on all the leaves.

Peers and plums and apple trees -

Can you give me some more please?

  • Because I am a tree

 So green,

So big,

I’ve got a leaf wig.

So pretty,

So tall,

I stand out from them all.

So stubborn,

So huge,

Like Ebenezer Scrooge.

So useful,

So me,

Because I am a tree.

  •  The Four Seasons

Spring

It is time for new life

There’s lots of buds on the trees

It is time for spring.

Summer

The bright gazing heat

The sound of cool swimming pools

It must be summer.

Autumn

The trees are looking bare

You hear the leaves crinkle

It must be autumn.

Winter

Snowflakes on the ground

They sparkle in the sunlight

It is winter time.

  • The Unexpected

 Pond dipping

Fish flipping.

Field full of daisies,

Wind waving.

Flies buzzing around me,

Look it’s a honey bee.

Past full of memories,

Long ago in centuries,

Old ancient throne,

But I’m all alone.

  • I Wish I was there

I wish I’d been there to see

All the things that relate to me -

Like the pond, lilies and the bees

Even the faces up in the trees.

I’ll like to meet Mr Tooze

And catch up on our class’s news.

I hear the class made rhymes

Which were all in perfect time.

Now I’m writing my own rhyme

Which is like a crime

For you see I didn’t go. . .

Now you’re one of the ones that know.

  • Ice House

 The Ice House is round

It goes right under the ground.

It was once covered in grass

Green, green grass.

Inside it is still cold.

It is really old.

Inside there’s no meat

One thing for certain - there is absolutely no heat

And if you want to see these things

Come to Wolseley Bridge.

  • In the Forest

People walk slowly to take in what they see,

Lily pads, fish, the world’s tallest tree.

The quiet chatter of birds fills the sky,

They swoop and dive way up high.

Towering trees all shades of green.

No one knows you’re here, because you can’t be seen.

  • Into The Unknown

At first glance they look like shadows lurking in the trees,

They ride around on the backs of the worker bees.

The darkness consumes them, yet they still shine through,

People say know them but they don’t really have a clue.

As you sit upon a toadstool and turn your volume down to mute,

You can hear them trying to lure you with the music of the flute.

You can hear them but not see them,

And you can tell they want to play,

But deep inside your heart there’s a voice

Hoping they will just stay away!

  • Is this paradise?

 Is this paradise?

The air is fresh

The bees like smell your flesh.

There’s an army of nettles

There’s some gorgeous petals.

River Trent is cool.

I'd rather swim there than in a pool.

Is this paradise?

I think so.

  • Robin!

I soar the wind like a feather in a breeze.

My wings carry me with such ease.

My breast is red and puffy.

I like a good song

And if I could I would sing all night long.

People think I’m cuddly,

But actually my talons are sharp

So handle me with caution.

And if you leave any food for me I might take a portion.

  • Robins in their world.

 Robins swooping to their nests,

To feed their very own pests.

They fly, hover, and dive -

They always look wild and alive.

When they see the foxes,

They hide in the feed boxes.

They all seem to be a bit tame,

But they all look the same.

  • Say This Poem Out Loud

Please say this poem out aloud.

My favourite Oxeye daisies grow in white and yellow crowds.

Now listen closely and you will hear,

All kinds of birds singing near.

Walk down the path and open your eyes,

And you will get a big surprise…

Green grass

Large trees

and buzzing bees.

Pink flowers

Willow towers

and juicy fruits with sweet powers.

Maybe I will come back

with my friends

and family

and write a poem that never ever

Ends!!!

  • I’d love to build a den in the Wolseley Centre!

I’d love to build a den in the Wolseley Centre

With windows and doors -

A place where I can enter.

I’d build a frame with sticks

And tie it with willow,

Make out of flowers

A soft comfy pillow.

I’d cover the frame with leaves

To keep out the light

And to keep me warm

Through the cold breezy night.

When I wake up and its time to go

I’ll leave my den up so that every one will know

That this little den under the tree

Was designed

And made

Carefully

By me!
