Into the Unknown

At first glance they look like shadows lurking in the trees

They ride around on the backs of worker bees

The darkness consumes them yet they still shine through

People say they know them but they don’t really have a clue

As you sit upon a toadstool and turn your volume down to mute

You can hear them trying to lure you with the music of their flute

You can hear them but not see them

And you can tell they want to play

But deep inside your heart, there’s a voice hoping they will stay away!
